Report Claims: Wrexham Bid £500,000 For Brilliant Striker Fans Favourite

Wrexham have tabled a bid for Peterborough United striker Kabongo Tshimanga, TEAMtalk understands.

League Two new boys Wrexham are desperate to bolster their attacking options before the close of the transfer window and we have learned a move for Tshimanga has been lined up.

The Red Dragons are currently without last season’s top scorer, Paul Mullin, as he recovers from a punctured lung. The injury was sustained in a collision with goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during a pre-season friendly against Manchester United.

Wrexham have lodged an offer in the region of £500,000 for Tshimanga and are waiting for a response from Peterborough regarding the bid.

Peterborough only signed Tshimanga on a permanent basis from Chesterfield earlier this summer. That came on the back of a loan spell at the club during the second half of last season.

The 26-year-old joined Peterborough on deadline day in January and made nine substitute appearances as Darren Ferguson’s side reached the League One play-offs.

Tshimanga started Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Swindon Town, but he could now be on the move before the close of the transfer window.

Tshimanga was a prolific goalscorer for Chesterfield, netting 32 goals in 51 games.

He also came close to joining Birmingham City in 2022 only for injury to derail the move.
