Charlton Athletic Injury Updates News As ELEVEN Ruled Out And Three Doubts
Latest injury news ahead of Charlton Athletic v Bristol Rovers in the EFL League One

Jevani Brown and James Wilson are doubts for Bristol Rovers midweek trip to Charlton Athletic.

Both players were absent in the Gas’ 1-1 draw with Barnsley on the weekend. Brown had featured against Ipswich, but stiffened up towards the end whilst Wilson was absent for both games last week.

Both players’ time of absence have been described as ‘won’t be too long’ but Charlton may be too soon for both of them to feature. Wilson started against Portsmouth, meanwhile Brown started two of Rovers’ three games.

Asked if any changes would be made for Tuesday, first-team coach Andy Mangan said: “What the normal process is they’ll have a day off (Sunday), they’ll come in on Monday, and we’ll just have to see how the bodies are.

“There’s an excellent recovery system here, I’m sure they’ll be absolutely fine. It’s just about how you manage your time within games. They will be fine.”

James Belshaw was also absent, though his absence was not discussed in detail by Andy Mangan. Summer signing Matt Hall was named on the bench with Matt Cox first choice.

James Gibbons and George Friend remain sidelined but the former is making good progress on a return. Both players have been out for the last month and their return will add depth to the defence in the full-back areas. Jordan Rossiter is Rovers’ only long-term absentee. He has been injured since late December, and has not yet returned for training with no timescale placed on his return.

Meanwhile for Charlton, both Terry Taylor and Diallang Jaiyesimi are both injured. Taylor picked up a knee injury against Newport County, and wasn’t risked against Peterborough United on Saturday. Jaiyesimi meanwhile has yet to feature this season.

Earlier last week it was reported that Scott Fraser and Tyreece Campbell would be out for a ‘number of weeks’ after knocks in their first week of the season. Richard Chin, Manny Egbo, Miles Leaburn and Chuks Aneke are all sidelined too, which makes for eight players out for the hosts ahead of Rovers’ trip to South London.

Charlton boss Dean Holden said: “Maybe one back for Tuesday but there might be one or two from today who might not make it. We’re a little bit light at the moment.

“These things take time so for now we have to go with what we’ve got and make sure we bounce back on Tuesday.”
