Another defender will not play for Leeds United against West Brom at home, it has been confirmed.
Leo Hjelde is unable to play for Leeds United because he is observing concussion protocols, according to manager Daniel Farke, who made the announcement during the pre-game news conference.
Even if Leeds’ strength in the transfer market for the remainder of the window received a much-needed boost from Daniel Farke’s news conference on Wednesday, his team still requires additions and much more depth.
Elland Road has a history of having injury problems, so the manager will have his work cut out for him selecting a team capable of competing for promotion.
Are any athletes back in shape?
The recovery from their individual injuries of Sam Greenwood and Georginio Rutter, as well as Joe Rodon’s integration into the club, is good news for Leeds and Farke.
Farke went on:
Sam Greenwood is back in training and was able to train all week, which is fantastic news as well. Additionally, Georginio Rutter and Joe Rodon have had a proper training week and are in the running to join the team whenever it is chosen.
“Some good news, but it’s still a little bit of a tricky week,” the speaker said. “But I hope, think, and I’m also quite convinced that next week our situation will look much better.”
Tyler Adams, Liam Cooper, Crysencio Summerville, Junior Firpo, Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford, and Mateo Joseph are still watching the game from the sidelines, while Luis Sinisterra, Willy Gnonto, and Helder Costa are working out separately from the rest of the team.
Hjelde lost his place to Sam Byram for the Birmingham City game, so it seems as though he wouldn’t have been a starter for us anyway from hereon.
However, it’s still frustrating that we have another player out injured for a game, making our depth even more worrisome.
On the other hand, seeing Greenwood and Rutter back in the mix to feature is a major boost, especially with Rutter who could set this league alight.
