Reading, Bolton Wanderers, and Charlton Athletic make approaches to recruit Rubin Colwill of Cardiff.
According to sources speaking to Football Insider, several clubs are interested in signing offensive midfielder Rubin Colwill of Cardiff City on loan or in a permanent deal before the transfer window closes.
Colwill, 21, is entering the final year of his contract with Cardiff, and if his club is unable to sign him to a new agreement, suitors will seize the opportunity.
Despite only being selected for one of Cardiff’s first three Championship games, League One trio Charlton, Bolton, and Reading have expressed interest in loaning out the Wales international.
Colwill made his debut with Cardiff in 2021, got into the Wales team, and was selected for both the postponed Euro 2020 competition and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The midfielder played a total of slightly under 700 minutes and contributed one assist in 22 appearances for Cardiff last season across all competitions.
The playmaker, who struggled with injuries last season, had a very successful preseason with the Welsh club before the current season.
When asked about his issues from the previous year, Colwill told WalesOnline (21 July) that they were “tough” but that they had motivated him to try and succeed in training every day.
The 21-year-old scored as Cardiff defeated Colchester United 5-2 on penalties to win the league cup match. He started for Cardiff against Colchester United.
A Cardiff City star has begun discussions with a Belgian club, according to other news.
