Wolves key man has stopped training aiming late transfer move despite not wanting to leave the club with current transfer saga

It has been reported that Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes has ‘stopped training’ in a bid to force a move to Manchester City.

This comes from David Ornstein, as the 25-year-old has been targeted by Pep Guardiola’s men this summer.

Now, it seems like Matheus Nunes is ready to do everything he can to leave Wolves and make his dream move to Manchester City.

David Ornstein: Wolves’ Matheus Nunes has stopped training to force Manchester City transfer
Branded as ‘incredible’ by Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese international has been earmarked as a potential option by City to reinforce a midfield that has lost Kevin De Bruyne to injury for several months.

So much so that the Sky Blues are believed to have submitted a £51.4 million bid to sign him, as per a revelation on Monday.

Now, it has been reported that Wolves technician Matheus Nunes has indeed ‘stopped training’ after having informed Wolves that he wishes to sign for Manchester City.
However, Gary O’Neil’s side are ‘determined’ not to let the enigmatic midfielder go unless the treble-winners meet their desired valuation.

If Matheus Nunes’ move to Manchester City falls through, he is set to return to the Wolves first-team squad only after the transfer window closes as he will now face disciplinary action.

Shows the pulling power that Manchester City have

It is no surprise that Matheus Nunes is desperate to leave Wolves with Manchester City having come calling for his signature.

The opportunity to join one of the greatest teams of all time off the back of their historic treble-winning campaign and be managed by Pep Guardiola is one that most players in the world would dream of.

Even in the Spaniard’s absence, City have always strived towards being as successful as possible and are one of the most well-run clubs in the world.

As a result, Nunes is doing all he can to fulfil his dream, as many would do when the chance of signing for the English juggernaut presents itself.
