Four bids imminent as Newcastle receive more late interest ahead of Friday’s deadline

Four bids imminent as Newcastle receive more late interest ahead of Friday’s deadline – Report
Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, West Brom and Aberdeen are showing interest in a late move for Jeff Hendrick, according to reports.

Football Insider claim that Leeds, Wednesday and West Brom are all lining up formal bids for the 31-year-old, with Aberdeen expected to submit a loan offer.

Hendrick hasn’t been part of Eddie Howe’s plans over the past 18 months and spent the 2022/23 season on loan with Reading. The Royals were expected to make that move permanent, but their relegation to League One scupper those plans, seeing him return to Newcastle this summer.

Like Isaac Hayden – who saw a loan move for Luton fall through yesterday – he’s up for sale and surplus to requirements, so we’ll have to hope the Championship trio and SPL side come through with bids

As we revealed last month, the club have been trying to trim the wage bill and balance the books. Ryan Fraser has left for Southampton, but there’s almost £100,000 of weekly wages currently tied up in Hayden and Henrick, with the latter believed to earn around £50,000 per-week.
