Luton Town Boss Rules Out Signing Premier League Duo

The last forty-eight hours has seen transfer speculation emerge linking the Hatters with two Premier League players.

According to the Daily Grapevine, Luton Town have been linked with moves for – Isaac Hayden – and – Rob Holding – but it would appear, as the closure of the transfer window draws nearer, neither is set to become a Hatter.

Newcastle United - Isaac Hayden

Our gaffer, Rob Edwards, as reported by Luton Today, has suggested that any deal to bring the Newcastle United midfielder, Isaac Hayden, to Kenilworth Road has not been completed, with Rob quoted as having remarked:

“We couldn’t quite agree a deal unfortunately.

“He’s someone we had a look at, clearly, there was interest.

“He’s a good player but unfortunately we couldn’t quite agree a deal.

“We can have a look and see what else we can do in the next couple of days.”

And as for Rob Holding, the boss, is quoted by Luton Today, as remarking:

“I’ve seen the speculation but there’s no truth in that.”
Although I’ll admit to being a little disappointed, I had my reservations about a possible loan deal considering that, according to the media, Holding is currently on circa £40,000 a week, at Arsenal.

Arsenal expect Rob Holding exit and he could follow Kieran Tierney to play Champions League football | talkSPORT
But like Rob said, there is still time to look at others with a view to doing a deal.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see who is on our radar and to see if anything materialises over the next few days, before the summer transfer window slams shut.
