Joe Gelhardt, a forward for Leeds United, has reportedly dropped down the pecking order at Elland Road and Ipswich Town is reportedly interested in taking him on loan.
According to a report from Football Insider, the Tractor Boys are one of many teams vying for the services of the 21-year-old before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
During the 2021/22 Premier League season with West Yorkshire, Gelhardt made 20 appearances (15 as a substitute), scoring twice and providing six assists in the process.
The Whites allowed Gelhardt to go on loan to Sunderland in January of last year in an effort to aid their Championship play-off pursuit.
The forward made 18 starts for the Black Cats and contributed three goals and assists.
Gelhardt’s playing time has decreased as a result of the addition of Joel Piroe from Swansea and Daniel Farke’s developing confidence in Georginio Rutter. He played five minutes at Portman Road on Saturday and barely an hour in Leeds’ Carabao Cup loss to Salford in the middle of the week.
This summer, the Tractor Boys have already greeted Cieran Slicker, Omari Hutchinson, Jack Taylor, George Hirst, and Brandon Williams at Portman Road.
