Birmingham City made a ton of impressive signings to their senior team during the successful summer transfer window.

Additionally, efforts have been made to welcome some new members of the academy. Young people have the chance to enter temporary tryouts during the summer in an effort to stand out during preseason. Some of these trials result in deals, while others lead to other chances.

Teenage midfielder Sahid Kamara is one who has now secured a contract with the team, as stated on the club’s official website.

The 19-year-old’s most recent club was Charlton Athletic, but following a successful trial, the Blues have signed him for an initial one-year contract. Included is the option for an additional 12 months.

In reality, Kamara began and scored against his old team Charlton shortly after the trade was confirmed earlier today (Monday).

Youngster Kamara can play in the centre of the midfield or out wide, giving him some crucial versatility early in his career. This promising beginning with the Blues academy is merely a positive indication of what may yet be to come.

While Kamara left The Valley, he joins another EFL franchise with a history of promoting players through the ranks to the first squad. The Charlton Athletic academy is known for nurturing young talent.

In the coming years, Kamara will be aiming to follow that well-traveled route into John Eustace’s plans, but for the time being, his whole attention will be on succeeding in the academy.

The one-year contract offers him time to demonstrate his abilities, and the extension options guarantee the Blues will have him in their lineup for the foreseeable future if he impresses.
