Brennan Johnson has stated that his desired jersey number will eventually be worn at Nottingham Forest by his new team, Tottenham.
The striker will wear No. 22 for Spurs after transferring from Forest for £47.5 million on the last day of the transfer window.
The No. 20 jersey he was handed at Forest is currently being worn by Tottenham’s backup goalkeeper Fraser Forster, thus he was unable to continue donning it.
Johnson, however, has admitted that Ryan Yates already had the No. 22 jersey for the Reds, despite his desire to wear it.
To be completely honest, he remarked, “I did want No. 22 there when I was at Forest when I initially got No. 20, but one of the boys had it.
“I like the number and I think it looks nice and tidy,”
Johnson, who recently signed a six-year contract with Spurs, may make his league debut against Sheffield United on September 16 when Premier League play resumes following the international break.
On September 24, the North London derby with Arsenal will take place after that game.
The match. In a video on SPURSPLAY, Johnson stated, “That’s one that will be bizarre for me since it’s coming up as well. “It hasn’t been that long since (the international break). Although it’ll seem crazy, I’m prepared for it.
