Former Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook has given his prediction for the Reds’ Premier League standing this year.
The defender, who departed the team in August, acknowledges that the team made some excellent acquisitions over the summer, which may enable them to shock some teams this season.
This window, Steve Cooper’s team added 13 new players, including excellent additions like Nicolas Dominguez and Ibrahim Sangare, to help build on their season-long survival.
Cook previously held this job at Bournemouth, but despite acknowledging that the second Premier League season is the most difficult, he thinks the Reds might have a great season.
Steve Cook on this year’s Nottingham Forest
On this week’s episode of the Garibaldi Red Podcast, former Reds defender Cook shared his outlook for Cooper’s team this year, acknowledging that all the elements are in place for a successful campaign.
The second season for a club in the Premier League is much discussed, and it can be risky.
“I do believe that Nottingham Forest can finish in the top half this year given the caliber of players that have entered,” said the player.I believe they can achieve anything if they are persistent during the difficult parts of the season and manage to keep the key players healthy.
“I’m looking forward to watching from the sidelines because this team has an incredibly great roster, and I genuinely believe the club will have a very successful season.
To fulfill the 32-year-old’s forecast, the Reds would need to have a fantastic season, but there is no reason why they can’t compete with the top teams in the division.
Monday at the City Ground, Forest will play host to Vincent Kompany’s Burnley with the goal of winning their second straight league game.
