Player set for wolves move in January amid contact over the deal to secure the signing

Back in May, iG Esporte in Brazil reported Wolverhampton Wanderers had made contact over a deal for Palmeiras star Raphael Veiga.

Two months later, Goal stated the Brazilian club were ignoring the approach made by Wolves as they didn’t have any intention to sell the 28-year-old in the last window.

Wolves are still in the picture and are expected to acquire the attacking midfielder’s services in 2024. That’s at least what Os Donos da Bola presenter Neto claims and his comments are relayed by O TV Foco.
Neto, who represented Palmeiras, Corinthians and several other clubs during his playing career, is now a broadcaster for Os Donos da Bola, and he claims his former club have already lined up a replacement for Veiga.

Palmeiras midfielder Raphael Veiga a 'low cost' option for Barcelona
“Raphael Veiga will say goodbye to Palmeiras next year. He is going to Wolverhampton, and the transfer will be completed next year. If this doesn’t happen, Palmeiras can criticise me at will,” he said.

“And to replace Veiga, Palmeiras have their eyes on a new midfielder, Pedrinho, currently at Atlético-MG.

“So, the situation is as follows: Palmeiras is about to sign Pedrinho for €15m, offering €10m plus Kevin. Therefore, at the end of the year, Veiga will go to England.”

This is a bold claim by Neto about Wolves and it’s not backed up or denied by other major outlets in Brazil or in the UK just yet.

Veiga has starred for the South American club this year, scoring 16 goals and registering 12 assists from 43 games.
