Supercomputer makes final 23/24 Championship table predictions for Ipswich Town

After the transfer window closed, a supercomputer updated its projections for the Championship in 2023–2024. This is where it believes Ipswich Town will finish currently.

Before a ball was kicked, BetVictor football statisticians employed the predictive supercomputer to simulate the future season.

It used an intricate technique to predict games and ran the simulation 10,000 times, giving statisticians the average final rankings and a table of odds for each team’s position in the standings.

A fresh final table was created when they revised their calculations to account for the current form and transfer business.

And Town, who were initially predicted to finish in fifth position at the beginning of the season, are now being favoured to snag second place and automatically advance.

“Ipswich Town grow from strength to strength, outpacing Southampton to take second,” the statisticians wrote.

Their expected chances of winning the title this season have doubled to 18% from 9.4% as a result of their outstanding run under Kieran McKenna.

With Town now placing second, Leicester City still holds the top spot in the final standings.

Sheffield Wednesday, Town’s Saturday opponents, are expected to have a disastrous season.

The complete table is available here.
