Wolves manager Gary O’Neill has revealed that teenager Enso Gonzalez is already working with the first squad after joining from Paraguayan club Libertad in the final week of the summer transfer window for £5 million.

Enso Gonzalez, who is only 18 years old, could be ‘one of the future’ at Molineux.

But don’t rule out the twinkle-toed teenager making an impact on the senior stage sooner rather than later, as Wolves boss Gary O’Neill gushed about a winger who might turn out to be one of the window’s steals at under £5 million.

Enso Gonzalez is already creating a name for himself at the Wolves.
“Enso has integrated well and managed to do a lot of days training with us,” O’Neill said ahead of Saturday’s lunchtime match against Liverpool at Molineux.

“He’s gotten used to his surroundings, which has helped him settle in.” He’s had a good couple of weeks.

“He has a lot of talent, but he’s still young, and we need to help him adapt to the Premier League.” He can, nevertheless, have an impact. He’s shown promise in training and should make an impact in the Premier League.”

Gonzalez, who is little in stature but huge in potential, joins the club after making nearly 40 first-team appearances for Libertad in his home Paraguay. While he may have to settle for a few Under 23 appearances in his new Midlands home at first, Wolves are banking on a youngster whose technical ability and eye for goal have prompted similarities to compatriot and Brighton ace Julio Enciso.

“Fortunately for him, it was possible (for the transfer) to materialize,” Gonzalez’s agent, Pedro Aldave, tells Cardinal Deportivo, admitting that O’Neil’s side battled off opposition from one of Italy’s best teams before signing the teenager on a five-year contract.

“We want him to play in the Premier League.” Wolves have been following him for four months now. He is a well-known player.

“Roma desired him. Several teams were interested in him. I had a meeting in Italy, but Libertad and that Premier League team were also friends. That simplified everything.”
