Newcastle is on the lookout for a ‘elite’ new signing as the club compiles their monthly transfer positional lists.

Newcastle United have appointed a number of new scouts across the globe in recent months and the Magpies are on the lookout for a new talent spotter who will cover Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium
Newcastle United are searching for an ‘elite’ first-team and emerging talent scout who will look to unearth gems in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The new addition will work closely with Andy Howe, Newcastle’s head of technical scouting, and recruitment operations manager Claire Burrows to recommend talent with a keen eye on the Bundesliga, Eredivisie and the Belgian Pro League. It will fall to this scout to watch games and tournaments at various levels; complete detailed reports on players; proactively conduct in-depth research into leagues and identified talent; collate extensive information and references regarding potential targets; and produce monthly positional lists on individuals who could play for the first team now and in the years to come.

According to the job advert, Newcastle are looking for a scout who has extensive experience of talent identification within ‘elite’ professional football as well as an expert knowledge of game models, playing styles and profiles of technical, tactical, physical and psychological traits within the potential targets. Newcastle first advertised the position several months ago but have relaunched their search having already brought in a number of talent spotters across the globe, including former Brentford lead Western Europe scout Hedy Hassine and ex-Chicago Fire head scout Borja de Matias Sanchez.

Newcastle are aiming to ultimately have a presence on the ground in seven key geographical clusters: France; Germany, Holland and Belgium; Spain and Portugal; Italy, Switzerland and Croatia; Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark and Serbia; Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador; and Argentina and Uruguay. That investment in the club’s scouting network has been welcomed by Eddie Howe.

“Your football club’s success depends on recruitment,” the Newcastle boss previously told reporters. “It’s that important. Who you bring into your football club really dictates everything that happens afterwards.
