Nigel Clough Disappointed comments following a 1-1 draw with Colchester United

Nigel Clough admits Mansfield Town were fortunate to draw against Colchester United.
Disappointed Nigel Clough believed Mansfield Town deserved nothing more than a 1-1 draw at Colchester United.
Davis Keillor-Dunn saved a point for the Stags with a stunning 90th-minute finish after Aden Flint’s knockdown.
Clough, on the other hand, felt his team had gotten away with it despite a poor performance.
“I’m not sure how we came up with a point.” “I don’t believe we deserved anything,” he admitted.
“I didn’t think we did anything nearly as well as we did in the first 90 games.”

“The only consolation is that we’re still unbeaten and have that point.” It’s the sole ray of sunshine.”

“We’re trying not to let performances like this happen. You have to give credit to the opposition for how they played, but you have to be patient to open them up.”

“It’s critical to remain unbeaten after that performance.”

Nigel Clough was not impressed with his side's performance in the draw at Colchester United.

The U’s came near early on when Jayden Fevrier let fly, only to have his shot blocked.

Following some beautiful approach play by Hiram Boateng, Louis Reed fired narrowly over the top for the Stags.
As the energetic start continued, Stags’ Lucas Akins attempted a curling effort that sailed just wide of the post.

As the Stags pressed for an early goal, defender Aden Flint glided forward before sending a long-range drive narrowly over the top.

Just as a Stags opener appeared to be on the cards, the U’s scored after half an hour.

Following Arthur Read’s tee-up, Joe Taylor slid easily past Christy Pym.

Before the break, Samson Tovide came dangerously close to extending the hosts’ lead.

Keillor-Dunn came near with the Stags’ opening opportunity of the second period, but his shot straight at the keeper should have been better.

Keillor-Dunn was then provided with another excellent opportunity from Jordan Bowery’s cross, but he headed over the bar from just eight yards.

Keillor-Dunn, on the other hand, came to the rescue in dramatic fashion.
