Ethan Horvath has been left fuming with Nottingham Forest after his snub from the squad. The Reds goalkeeper has been left out of the club’s 25-man squad.
According to The Sun’s transfer guru Alan Nixon, Horvath isn’t happy at Forest. He has been on the bench for all five of the club’s games so far this season but will now be considered fourth choice.
Forest landed Odysseas Vlachodimos from Benfica on transfer deadline day. He will compete with Matt Turner for the gloves, with the man signed from Arsenal currently the number one.
The Reds look to have moved on from their Dean Henderson escapade that dominated the summer. They’ve now got themselves two established goalkeepers and Horvath can’t really grumble.
It would seem as though the player is unhappy with another thing at the City Ground. It’s claimed in the report that Forest had to block several possible Championship moves for Horvath.
Still, it’s easy to see why Forest needed him to stay. The player was considered the second choice in the early weeks of the season, with Wayne Hennessey carrying a niggle.
Horvath left fuming over Forest snub
With transfer windows now closed across the world, Horvath looks in limbo at Forest. It looks for all the world as though he’s not going to play any football now until the New Year at the earliest.
Horvath has only made 11 appearances for Forest since signing from Genk in the summer of 2021. He was often viewed as the understudy to Brice Samba and failed to oust him from the team.
Forest can’t really be faulted for the way in which they’ve dealt with Horvath. It was impossible to let him go without seeking another goalkeeper first and ultimately, no clubs came forward after Vlachodimos was signed.
After winning promotion with Luton Town last season, it was perhaps a blow that the Hatters didn’t sign him. Nonetheless, it seems as though, Horvath is now extremely disgruntled with Forest.
