According to the Athletic, Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has experienced a setback on his road to full health and will now have to start from scratch.
The France under-21 star suffered a hamstring injury in the summer while competing for his country in the European Championship, and while the damage was severe and he was expected to be out for three months, the latest setback means he will miss the league games against Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United.
Olise recently turned down a move to Chelsea in favor of a new contract in south London that saw him increase his salary. The contract was also a timely boost for the club, which had recently lost Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray.
Last season, he had the most assists of any player outside the top six for the team, with 11, and he emerged as one of the great stars of the 2022/2023 season.
Another injury concern will be forward Jordan Ayew, who was forced to leave the game against Aston Villa due to what Paddy McCarthy described as a dead leg.
