Nottingham Forest manager after a tense and contentious draw with Burnley provided insight and errors on the game.

The two teams provided a fantastic treat for Sky Sports viewers with a game full of events and controversy.

Lyle Foster guided home what could have been his third goal in as many league games late in the game, only for it to be controversially disallowed following a VAR check.

Foster was later sent off in the first minute of the game’s extra time, but Cooper’s team were unable to capitalize and grab a late winner.

“There’s a lot to think about and take away from the game,” Cooper said.

“We started well, we took the game to Burnley, which is what we want to do here [at home].” We switched formations, gained width in our game, and went into some excellent positions. I just felt like we could have done better in and around their box.

“By playing some really good football with some real intensity, we gave ourselves the opportunity to be productive at the top end of the pitch.” It didn’t quite work out for us, but you have to make it happen as well.

“Where am I?” Of course, we wanted to win games here, but it’s a new formation with a lot of new players. We all know that things don’t just fall into place.

“If you don’t win, don’t lose, and we showed good resilience to do so.”
