Leeds United winger Jaidon Anthony has responded to Callum Wilson’s update following Newcastle United’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan.
The Magpies earned a point in their Champions League group stage opening on Tuesday (19 September) with a goalless draw at the San Siro.
Anthony, who joined Leeds on loan from Bournemouth in the summer, worked with Wilson at the Cherries for several years.
“Great point away from home in our first game,” Wilson said on Instagram. “From the Conference to the Champions League has been a long road for me!!”
“The moral of the story is to never give up on your dreams, to work hard, and to let nothing stand in your way.” Thank you to all of the traveling fans and everyone who has assisted me on this journey.”
Wilson’s rise from the Conference to Europe’s elite club league has been nothing short of spectacular.
He deserves a lot of praise for all of his hard work over the years, and the striker is ready to make a lot of wonderful Champions League memories in the coming months.
Wilson has already made a memorable debut, playing at the legendary home of one of the greatest clubs in history, AC Milan.
The narrative can only get better considering that the Magpies have been drawn in Group F among the Italian giants, PSG of France, and Borussia Dortmund of Germany.
Leeds midfielder Jaidon Anthony will undoubtedly be one of many fans of Wilson and Newcastle throughout the Champions League season.
But the Whites man will be focused on his own adventure, with the winger expected to play a key role under Daniel Farke during his loan spell at Elland Road.
