Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp urged Eddie Howe to give a ‘bit of a chance’ to the 25-year-old outstanding player.

Harvey Bares should be ‘given a bit of a chance to shine’ against Sheffield United on Sunday, according to Harry Redknapp. The summer signing has only made one competitive start for Newcastle United, however he scored and assisted on his debut against Aston Villa.

However, due to the form of Anthony Gordon on the left flank, the former Leicester City player has had to be patient. The season began with Miguel Almiron on the right side, with Gordon and, most recently, Jacob Murphy replacing in.

Following the midweek draw at AC Milan, Howe may be tempted to rotate his team, with the televised encounter with the Blades the first of three matches in six days. Redknapp believes Newcastle will win at Bramall Lane and feels Barnes can make the ‘difference’.
“Sheffield United will have a serious point to prove after being frustrated at Spurs last weekend, it will be tough against a Newcastle side with plenty of talent,” Redknapp told BetVictor. Eddie may have to consider some rotation now that the Champions League season has begun.

“I’d like to see Harvey Barnes given a chance to shine in a game like this where he has the potential to make the difference.” Sheffield United will be difficult to break down, but Newcastle can come away with a narrow victory.”
