Max Aarons and Reece James were among those who congratulated Jaidon Anthony on his first goal for Leeds United in Saturday’s triumph over Watford on social media.
Anthony took to Instagram after scoring the game-winning goal in the 3-0 victory that moves Daniel Farke’s side into the Championship play-offs.
Jaidon Anthony has had a fantastic start to his loan spell with Leeds. The winger gave the Whites a late boost on deadline day, joining from Bournemouth as Luis Sinisterra left.
The 23-year-old is yet to start. But he is certainly staking a claim for more opportunities. He took his goal superbly after being played in by Georginio Rutter.
Jaidon Anthony lauded after Leeds win
The amount of depth Leeds now has in the last third is terrifying. It would have been devastating for fans if we had lost Willy Gnonto to a catastrophic injury last season.
Obviously, Farke’s men would benefit from having the Italian. Dan James, on the other hand, had two assists against Watford. Crysencio Summerville is now one of the team’s most consistent performers. Yesterday, Georginio Rutter delivered one of those performances that fans will remember for years to come.

And Anthony came off the bench to put the finishing touches on the victory. The winger has now commented on the victory on Instagram. Among those who responded were Max Aarons, who turned down a transfer to Leeds in the summer, and Reece James…
Leeds appear to be in an excellent situation. It was a feature of Marcelo Bielsa’s later tenure that there didn’t appear to be any true depth on the bench, and no game-changers.
But Leeds now have someone in the ranks who was being linked with a move to Arsenal as recently as January.
It is surely not going to be too long before he is making his full debut.
