Watch Leeds United manager Daniel Farke earn standing ovation for stunning ball control in win over Watford

Daniel Farke received a standing ovation from Leeds United fans after a superb piece of ball control during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Watford.

Farke delivered an incredible touch deep into stoppage time, with the Whites 3-0 up and cruising, to stop the ball dead after it had been kicked out of play.
Leeds fans had already had something to cheer about as three goals from Joel Piroe, Sam Byram, and Jaidon Anthony helped them clinch their first Elland Road Championship victory of the season.

After Farke’s exhibition of talent, fans stood and applauded, with chants of’sign him up’ echoing around a jubilant Elland Road. As he flicked the ball away, the Leeds manager smiled to his bench.

When asked about the event, Farke stated, “If they all had my ability on the ball, it would be easy.” Regrettably, I’m no longer employed. There was a lot of pressure, and the ball seemed to be in the air for two minutes. It was fine with regular shoes.”

The win was the Whites’ fourth in a straight, following 0-0 draws against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City, as well as a 3-0 victory over Millwall last weekend.

Farke stated of the victory, “It was an exciting game, especially the second half.” It was satisfying to be able to return to the dressing room with a clean sheet.

“In the first half, we created so many chances.” We were able to convert our dominance into goals in the second half. For me, the focus was extremely nice, and I am quite thrilled with the clean sheet.”

Leeds now have seven days to prepare for their next match, which is against Southampton at 12.30pm on Saturday. The Saints have had a significant drop in form after scoring 10 points in their first four games.

They had lost their previous four games and were defeated 2-1 on Saturday by Middlesbrough, who were yet to win a Championship game this season.
