Vincent Kompany will use Burnley’s Carabao Cup match against Salford City to put his entire squad through their paces.
The Clarets made ten changes for their 1-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest in the second round at the City Ground.
Burnley’s rhythm was unaffected by the sweeping changes, and they won thanks to Zeki Amdouni’s late strike.
Arijanet Muric is expected to fill in for James Trafford in goal, while Darryl O’Shea, Hannes Delcroix, Vitinho, Jack Cork, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Manuel Benson, Anass Zaroury, Nathan Redmond, and Jay Rodriguez will all be hoping for some useful minutes.
Hjalmar Ekdal (knee), Darko Churlinov (health scare), and Michael Obafemi (hamstring) are all out, while Lyle Foster serves the second game of his three-game suspension.
“It’s a good game for us,” Kompany said of tomorrow’s match at the Peninsula Stadium.
“There are a lot of players you haven’t seen yet who we believe have a lot of talent and quality, and we’re hoping to bring them closer to what we want to do.”
“I’m looking forward to the game.”
Salford have had a difficult start to the new season, lying fourth from bottom after nine games.
The Ammies, managed by former Clarets loanee Neil Wood, have only won two games so far and were defeated 3-2 by Harrogate Town at the weekend.
They have already sprung two surprises in this competition, having defeated Championship clubs Preston North End and Leeds United on penalties to reach this level.
