Andy Thompson has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with Pablo Sarabia since he joined Wolves.
The 31-year-old was given a start in the Carabao Cup against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night but failed to make an impact.
Sarabia had excelled in the previous round against Blackpool, assisting on four of Wolves’ five goals against the Tangerines.
Sarabia, on the other hand, has struggled to have an impact in Wolves games.
He arrived to a lot of fanfare.
He joined from Paris Saint-Germain for a cost of £4.4 million, which many thought was excellent business.
But Sarabia has only had a few solid games since his January arrival, and Thompson believes he should be playing more…
Andy Thompson disappointed with Pablo Sarabia
Thompson was a guest on the latest Wolves Weekly podcast.
He was a frustrated spectator as Wolves lost 3-2 to Ipswich, and he was not particularly happy with Sarabia’s contributions.
“I was disappointed again with Sarabia,” he said (Wolves Weekly). He had trouble getting into the game. When he arrived at the club, I had high hopes for him. I know we’re not playing well, and it’s not just him, but I expected him to give us a lot more.”
Sarabia’s recent poor form has pushed him to the periphery at Molineux.
He hasn’t started a Premier League game since a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace before the international break.
That was one of his only two Premier League starts so far.
Sarabia is falling short; he needs to improve.
Sarabia has certainly underwhelmed thus far at Wolves.
Fans were naturally ecstatic when he agreed to sign, and we haven’t seen nearly enough of his talent thus far.
According to current sources, he is now the highest paid employee at Molineux.
As a result, as an experienced player, he must begin to take on greater responsibilities for Wolves.
