Leeds United play host to Bristol City on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road and boss Daniel Farke has given an injury update during his pre-match press conference – as per the club’s YouTube – on Friday.
Leeds come into the game after a 1-0 win over QPR – five clean sheets in the last six. Meanwhile, an in-form Bristol City side managed by Nigel Pearson, have taken 10 points from a possible 18 in their last six.
Willy Gnonto, Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo and Djed Spence remain on the sidelines until after the break – and will not be available for the visit of Bristol City. But there are a number of other injury concerns.
Farke gave an update. The shoulder injury troubling Jamie Shackleton will keep him out of the clash. Sam Byram is okay, but a late call will be made. Joe Rodon has recovered from a knock on Wednesday.
But Jaidon Anthony could join Shackleton in missing Saturday’s fixture – after starting his first game for Leeds on Wednesday night. He has a knock to his ankle and Farke says he is 50-50 for Bristol City.
“Jamie will sadly miss the game, the shoulder is too painful. We need further assessment – he will definitely miss the game, bad news. With Sam Byram, we will wait and see – we need to make a late call.
“The situation is better than it was the last time because he is more in his rhythm. We have another 24 hours, which makes a big difference. Not too concerned. Joe is alright. Welsh. No problem at all.
“Jaidon Anthony is 50/50. Knock on his ankle, sore. Yesterday he did it. Today is much improved and it looks like he could train but we will have to see. He is 50/50 if he is available,” Farke said on Friday.

With no Shackleton or Spence, Luke Ayling will surely continue on the right of the defence and it also means that Leeds need Byram to be okay. Shackleton has played there, while Firpo remains injured.
Farke does have decisions to make in midfield, out wide and up top. Does he continue with Archie Gray and Ethan Ampadu – and could he decide to bring Patrick Bamford in, perhaps in place of Joel Piroe.
