According to reports, Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Sao Paulo midfielder Jhegson Mendez could be aided.
During the summer, it was rumored that Forest was interested in the 26-year-old, and negotiations were purportedly held between the parties. Following his performances at the 2022 World Cup, he is recognized as “one of the best” in Ecuador.
His stay in Sao Paulo, however, has not gone as planned. He has only appeared in six league games out of 25 so far and is now ranked below Luan, Pablo Maia, and Gabriel Neves in the pecking order.
However, Mendez has not been short of offers, with Sao Paulo previously rejecting bids. However, Sao Paulo are said to be willing to split ways with the star after the Brazilian season concludes in December.
According to Brazilian writer Jorge Nicola, the club is willing to accept “any offer” that includes cash recompense.
“He arrived with a good reputation but struggled to adapt to Brazilian football,” he added. He was the subject of a free transfer bid from the Turkish league, which Sao Paulo turned down.”
