Photographs have emerged depicting the aftermath of a significant fire that engulfed Barnsley FC’s team bus as they were returning from a League One match. The incident occurred on the M5 in Gloucestershire on Saturday evening, following their 1-0 victory over Exeter.
Fortunately, all players and staff emerged unscathed from the incident, but images reveal that the bus was left completely devastated. The motorway was temporarily closed near junction 11a for Cheltenham and Gloucester at around 8 pm due to the fire.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Barnsley officials reassured that the coach had been successfully evacuated, and everyone aboard was in good health. The club expressed gratitude to the emergency services for their prompt response and emphasized their current focus on ensuring the safe return of staff and players, refraining from further comments at this time.
