Leicester City is actively searching for new players to bolster Enzo Maresca’s team in upcoming transfer windows. During the summer, the club acquired winger Abdul Fatawu on loan from Sporting CP. They are now considering a return to Portugal for potential signings, as confirmed by recent scouting efforts.
According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, a Leicester scout attended Porto’s 1-0 victory over Portimonense on a recent Sunday. Porto currently holds the third position in Liga Portugal, with an impressive record of six wins and one draw in their first eight games of the season, trailing only Sporting and Benfica.
In the mentioned game, Porto secured the win with a goal from 24-year-old Brazilian striker Evanilson, who was also awarded the man of the match title. Goalkeeper Diogo Costa and center-back Zé Pedro also delivered noteworthy performances.
Additionally, English midfielder Dennis Adeniran, a 24-year-old former Everton player currently playing for Portimonense, caught the attention. Leicester City has previously demonstrated an interest in bringing English players back to their homeland, as seen with Stephy Mavididi.
Leicester has consistently dispatched scouts to Porto games in recent months and years, suggesting a potential long-term target on their radar. Manager Enzo Maresca is closely collaborating with the existing recruitment staff, which has already yielded positive results during the summer transfer window.
