West Brom midfielder John Swift is facing an extended period on the sidelines due to a calf injury, as reported by journalist Lewis Cox. According to information from The Express and Star, it appears that the 28-year-old will be unavailable for approximately six weeks.

Swift has been a regular presence in the team this season as West Brom aims for a top-six finish to secure a return to the Premier League. Cox conveyed the club’s official statement on Twitter, stating, “WBA confirms John Swift’s absence for six weeks due to a calf injury.”

This absence will be a significant setback for the team. Swift’s skills in creativity, vision, and precise passing have played a pivotal role in orchestrating West Brom’s offensive strategies. His ability to unlock opposition defenses with pinpoint through balls and set pieces has made him a valuable asset, both in midfield and in the final third of the pitch.

Furthermore, Swift has contributed off the ball by tracking back, intercepting passes, and aiding in regaining possession for the Baggies. His versatility has also made him a crucial player under the management of Carlos Corberan. Additionally, he has been an influential figure within the team’s dressing room, so his absence will be keenly felt.

Unfortunately, Swift is not the only player sidelined by injuries. Jeremy Sarmiento, Daryl Dike, and Adam Reach are also dealing with injuries, which threatens to disrupt the club’s push for a play-off spot. Corberan will need to ensure that some of the fringe players step up, as a challenging road lies ahead for West Brom.
