Daniel Farke face with an option to sign only one terrific player and to sell another fantastic ace to boost the club’s promotion push

Currently, Leeds United seems unlikely to engage in a busy January transfer window, given the strength of their current squad. In terms of their division, Leeds boasts the most robust squad depth they’ve had in years, thanks to a successful summer transfer window that brought in nine new players to Elland Road. Across the pitch, there are two players for nearly every position, though there is one specific role that could use some attention.

However, in the event of a fully fit squad at any point this season, some talented players might find themselves left out, necessitating the departure of one player if a new signing is made in January.

Considering this, let’s explore one player that Daniel Farke should consider signing and one he should consider selling.

**To Sign – Ilias Chair:**

Leeds currently lack a player in the number 10 position, which is a critical role. Farke’s squad could benefit from an additional player who can deliver that decisive pass in the final third. Ilias Chair fits the bill and would likely welcome the opportunity to join West Yorkshire, especially given QPR’s struggles at the bottom of the league. Leeds expressed interest in Chair during the summer, but due to timing issues, a deal couldn’t be finalized. Chair’s standout performance against Leeds in a recent match for QPR highlighted his potential to thrive in a dominant side like Farke’s.

**To Sell – Joe Gelhardt:**

While Joe Gelhardt showed promise during his breakthrough year at Leeds, it’s become clear that things just aren’t clicking for him. He had the chance to shine earlier in the season in matches against Birmingham City, Shrewsbury Town, and West Brom but unfortunately didn’t meet expectations. Since that third game of the season against West Brom, Gelhardt has had very limited playing time, amounting to just six minutes. Gelhardt should be given the opportunity to move elsewhere and play regularly to fulfill the potential he clearly possesses.
