Los Angeles Lakers have had a solid start to the NBA preseason, boasting a 2-1 record. D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura have particularly shone in their first three games. On the flip side, Jarred Vanderbilt has been hampered by injuries, leading to limited playing time.

Vanderbilt made a name for himself as a standout defender for the Lakers last season. Unfortunately, Dave McMenamin delivered disheartening news to Lakers fans via his official Twitter account, disclosing that Vanderbilt will miss his third consecutive preseason game. However, there is no major concern about his readiness for the season opener.

Vanderbilt’s absence from the lineup is due to the Lakers monitoring soreness in his left heel, sidelining him for the upcoming preseason game against the Golden State Warriors.

As the Lakers aim to avenge their previous preseason loss, the absence of Vanderbilt is undoubtedly a setback, considering his elite defensive skills, often utilized to guard the opposing team’s best player.

From the Lakers’ perspective, they are hopeful that Vanderbilt will return to the roster before the regular season commences later this month. The team is prioritizing his rest during the preseason to ensure the 24-year-old is in peak condition for the upcoming regular season.
