Football agent Andriy Kirichenko has recently discussed the transfer of Nazariy Rusyn to Sunderland and his potential in English football. After a delayed transfer process, the 24-year-old forward successfully joined Sunderland on transfer deadline day, a deal described as intricate by Black Cats sporting director Kristjaan Speakman. Despite some initial language barriers after moving to England, Rusyn has been actively taking English lessons and receiving assistance from under-21s player Timur Tuterov to communicate with his teammates and coaches.
Kirichenko, speaking about Rusyn’s move to Sunderland, mentioned their positive relationship with the club, highlighting their previous transfer of Ukrainian forward Timur Tuterov from Kolos with agent Vadym Shabli.
The negotiation process took some time as both clubs had difficulty finding a mutually satisfying compromise, particularly regarding the player’s value. Eventually, they reached an agreement that left everyone content, though the negotiations regarding the player’s value were the main sticking point.
While Rusyn was called up to Ukraine’s national team for European qualifying matches, he did not play in their 2-0 win over North Macedonia. Nevertheless, Kirichenko remains confident in Rusyn’s potential to excel in the Premier League, describing him as a player possessing all the necessary qualities for success. He noted that both the team’s coach and club management have a positive view of Rusyn and that he will aim to make his mark in the Championship, with the possibility of catching the attention of Premier League clubs or even seeing his team move up to that level.
