The agent of Mohammed Kudus has revealed that despite reaching a personal agreement with Chelsea, the transfer to the London club fell through. Kudus, a Ghanaian winger, eventually moved to West Ham in a £38 million deal at the end of the transfer window. Chelsea, along with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, had shown strong interest in Kudus as he neared the end of his time with Ajax.
Jen Mendelewitsch, the agent, explained that Chelsea’s offer of around £17 million was deemed “ridiculous” and was subsequently rejected by Ajax.
Chelsea’s focus appeared to be on their pursuit of Moises Caicedo, which limited their ability to negotiate effectively for Kudus.
Mendelewitsch also addressed the rumors of PSG’s interest in Kudus, stating that although he wanted to leave, there were not many clubs in need of a midfielder who could afford him. The agent confirmed that they did offer Kudus’ profile to PSG, but the club decided not to move forward, asserting that every club has the right to make such decisions based on their priorities.
