West Ham’s plans for Pablo Fornals appear to be highly unrealistic. Fornals, who arrived from Villarreal in 2019 for £24 million, is now a subject of interest from Sevilla, who might secure his services either in January for £10 million or on a free transfer next summer, as per Claret and Hugh.
Over the past year, Fornals has fallen out of favor under manager David Moyes, with only 10 Premier League starts since October 2022, making it clear that he performs best when positioned centrally.
Unfortunately, Moyes often deploys him on the left wing, where his lack of pace hinders his effectiveness.
It’s evident that Fornals may not have a future at West Ham, as he rarely gets opportunities to play. Despite being a skilled player with much to offer at the highest level, his attributes seem underutilized at the club. Consequently, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave in January. However, if this occurs, it’s unlikely that West Ham will receive anywhere near £10 million for a player who will be a free agent in just a few months.
