QPR duo face fitness tests ahead of West Brom game

QPR hope Cook and Dykes return for Albion game
QPR hope to have Steve Cook and Lyndon Dykes back for Tuesday’s game at West Brom.

Cook has been working his way back to fitness following a hamstring injury and was not ready to return for Saturday’s defeat at Huddersfield.

Striker Dykes, who also missed that game after picking up a knock, has had a scan and Rangers are hopeful the problem is not serious. He too could be involved against the Baggies.

But defender Morgan Fox remains sidelined with a knee injury, having recently undergone surgery.

Rangers head to The Hawthorns with boss Gareth Ainsworth under serious pressure.

Ainsworth’s side are third from bottom of the Championship, having lost four matches in a row. They face leaders Leicester this weekend.

However, speaking after Saturday’s defeat, Ainsworth continued to insist that he can turn things around.
He also pointed to a relative improvement on the 4-0 hammering by Blackburn prior to the international break.

Ainsworth declared: “I’m a glass-half-full guy. The Blackburn game was not acceptable and the transformation is something else. We’ve improved from Blackburn.

“Roll on the season because it’s going to be a good one. I’m pretty sure we’re going to finish above that line.”
