Newcastle United has shared a video featuring their players in training today, preparing for their upcoming Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund. The video notably includes 24-year-old midfielder Joe Willock, signaling his return to full training. This is great news as Willock, a former Arsenal player with a £25 million price tag, has been dropping hints on social media about his imminent return to action. Although it’s too soon for him to participate in the Borussia Dortmund match tomorrow, it’s a significant step towards his Champions League debut.

Prior to the last international break, manager Eddie Howe had hinted that Willock would resume training in late October and potentially be ready to play in November.

Willock’s return was already promising, but the timing couldn’t be better, considering the uncertainty around Sandro Tonali’s impending suspension duration. While it’s unlikely that Willock will step onto the field, just having his name on the bench could provide a much-needed morale boost for the team and fans.
