Portuguese outlet O Jogo have claimed that Ruben Neves ‘dreams’ of sealing a January return to the Premier League with Newcastle United.
Newcastle are in desperate need of reinforcements given the current list of injuries along with Sandro Tonali’s 10-month suspension, and it’s believed Neves has emerged as a loan option.
Despite the fact that the 26-year-old just recently joined Saudi side Al-Hilal, the Telegraph reported our interest earlier this week, and O Jogo reports that PIF might help arrange a transfer, with Newcastle ‘preparing’ a loan bid.
PIF owns a controlling stake in both Newcastle and Al-Hilal, making this a potentially contentious decision that will undoubtedly elicit a number of protests. However, it is believed that such transactions are still viable as long as the fees involved have fair market value.

On a footballing level, he could be a perfect fit as a Premier League proven midfielder with experience, bags of quality and plenty of grit as a former captain of Wolves. If he misses top flight football and could leave on loan, Neves would be a superb short-term replacement for Tonali.
