Chris Lepkowski reacts to nuisance he spotted in West Brom win v Coventry City

Chris Lepkowski had a strong reaction to what he observed during West Brom’s victory against Coventry City. Lepkowski credited Coventry City midfielder Tatsuhiro Sakamoto with controlling the game for the opposition and causing problems for West Brom, even though the Baggies ultimately won 2-0. Despite the victory, Coventry City found themselves in fifth place, securing a spot in the play-offs.

Lepkowski expressed his perspective on Twitter, stating, “Sakamoto an absolute nuisance from #wba point of view. Dictating everything in front of our box.”

Coventry City 0-2 Albion | West Bromwich Albion

The outcome was impressive for West Brom, as they were not heavily favored to win the game. Carlos Corberan, the team’s manager, might have been content with a draw if it had been offered at the start. The game began with the hosts dominating possession and creating clear-cut chances, which, if converted, could have altered the course of the match.

There were also claims of offside for both of West Brom’s goals, but such situations are part of the game, and the team has experienced poor officiating in the past. Corberan’s substitutions, particularly the introduction of Brandon Thomas-Asante, proved to be effective. The striker not only scored the second goal but also embarked on a fantastic solo run that nearly resulted in a third goal. Although some might consider him selfish for seeking individual glory, the three points were already secured, justifying his desire to shine.
