Baltimore Ravens have Released another cornerback given potential room for fellow secondary man

On November 2, the Baltimore Ravens made the decision to release cornerback Kevon Seymour, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Seymour, a sixth-year defender, has had an inconsistent tenure with the Ravens over the past three seasons, frequently moving on and off the roster and primarily contributing on special teams during his latest stint. There’s a possibility that Seymour could return to the Ravens through the practice squad.

The departure of Seymour may open up an opportunity for fellow defensive back Daryl Worley, who recently returned from an injury that had kept him sidelined since Week 4. The Ravens activated Worley from the injured reserve, and he could potentially fill the gap left by Seymour in the secondary.

On November 1, the Las Vegas Raiders, who were struggling with a disappointing 3-5 season, made significant changes by firing head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler. This decision came in the wake of a demoralizing 26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. As a result, linebackers coach Antonio Pierce was appointed as the interim head coach. The Raiders have struggled on both offense and defense, ranking 31st in points scored per game and 30th in yards gained per game in the NFL.

On October 31, the NFL trade deadline saw limited activity in the AFC North, with the Cleveland Browns being the only team to make a move. They traded wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones to the Detroit Lions in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2025. This trade marks a homecoming for Peoples-Jones, a Detroit native and former Michigan alum who was drafted by the Browns in the sixth round in 2017. Despite a recent loss to the Ravens, the Lions continue to lead the NFC North with a record of 6-2.

Also on October 31, the Washington Commanders were active in the trade market. They traded edge rusher Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears for a second-round draft pick. In addition, they decided to trade edge rusher Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. With a 3-5 record, Washington appears to be making moves in response to a challenging season.

The Houston Texans signed safety DeAndre Houston-Carson from the Ravens’ practice squad on October 31. This marks his second stint with the Texans in 2023.

On October 27, former Baltimore Ravens receiver Steve Smith ended a feud with Denver Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy. A fan made an unusual discovery in the Baltimore Ravens’ team store on October 26. The fan purchased a hat that featured the Ravens emblem along with the word “Steelers,” the name of the Ravens’ longtime NFL rivals. The fan shared this peculiar find on social media, and it was clear that the combination was a mistake, as fans from both Baltimore and Pittsburgh would likely not wear such a hat. The Ravens-Steelers rivalry has been closely contested since the Ravens joined the league in 1996.

On October 23, Ndamukong Suh revealed that the Baltimore Ravens had expressed interest in him for a potential return to the NFL. On October 17, the Baltimore Ravens made a significant roster move by adding safety Andrew Adams to their practice squad. The team might quickly promote him to the active roster due to an injury to Marcus Williams during their win over the Tennessee Titans in London. Adams, who had a Super Bowl win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, previously played for the Tennessee Titans. In a corresponding move, the Ravens released veteran running back Kenyan Drake from the practice squad.
