The Los Angeles Rams and the Green Bay Packers are both in dire need of a win as they head into Week Nine of the NFL season. The Packers, with a 2-5 record, have suffered four consecutive losses and are seeking improvements in their offense. The Rams, at 3-5, have lost two games in a row and are striving to make a comeback in their division.

In preparation for their upcoming game at Lambeau Field, the Rams have taken action at the quarterback position due to concerns about Matthew Stafford’s availability. Stafford’s status for Sunday’s game against the Packers is uncertain due to a thumb injury, prompting the Rams to elevate Dresser Winn from their practice squad to the active roster for the game.

If Stafford is unable to play, it is likely that Brett Rypien would start for the Rams, with Dresser Winn serving as the backup. Dresser Winn, who went undrafted out of Tennessee-Martin, initially signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent this year. After failing to make the Rams’ roster following preseason, he had a brief stint with the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks before returning to the Rams’ practice squad.

The Packers would benefit greatly if they didn’t have to face Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford has been dealing with a UCL sprain in his right thumb and missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. While it appears unlikely that he will play in Week 9, he has not been officially ruled out yet.
