Newcastle United are in serious need of another striker, with the existing two goal scorers’ injury records proving to be a problem.
Newcastle currently has only two recognized strikers in the first team, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak. Both strikers have been prone to the occasional injury since joining Newcastle, and both are currently on the injury list.
As a result, Newcastle must make it a priority in January to sign another striker to complement the two we already have.
Newcastle United are the frontrunners to sign Marcos Leonardo.
According to reports in Brazil via BolaVIP, the Magpies are looking for a solution.
Santos player Marcos Leonardo, identified as a promising talent, has drawn comparisons to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Brazilian legend Romario by South American football expert Tim Vickery. The 20-year-old, who has been linked with various Premier League and European clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, is reportedly a prime target for Newcastle. The club is rumored to be preparing an €18 million (£15.7 million) bid for the striker in the upcoming January transfer window.
Having demonstrated a keen eye for goal, Marcos Leonardo boasts impressive statistics this season, registering 21 goals and four assists in 45 appearances for Santos in the Brasileiro Serie A. Praised for his goal-scoring instincts and ability to capitalize on defenders’ errors, he is likened to Alexander Isak with a touch of Brazilian flair.
Given his comparisons to Aguero and Romario, acquiring Marcos Leonardo for around £15 million seems like a sensible move for Newcastle in the January transfer window.
