Arrigo Sacchi has once again shared his thoughts on AC Milan’s recent struggles, expressing skepticism about the entirely positive impact of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return. Milan, who were leading the table going into the last international break with seven wins in their first eight league games and an unbeaten record in the Champions League, now find themselves winless in four Serie A matches, dropping to third place.
The team’s setbacks against Juventus and Udinese, along with draws against Napoli and Lecce, have heightened the pressure on head coach Stefano Pioli. This situation is not new for Pioli in 2023, as he has faced challenges throughout the year.
Amid ongoing speculation about Ibrahimovic potentially returning in some capacity, Sacchi shared his views on Milan’s predicament during an appearance on ‘Tutti Convocati’ on Radio 24. Sacchi emphasized the importance of a club, especially one with foreign ownership, surrounding itself with individuals possessing substantial football knowledge and competence.
He highlighted the significance of having people with a deep understanding of football in key roles within the club. Sacchi pointed out that Pioli had been left isolated, contrasting the current scenario with the presence of Maldini in the past.
