According to Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Heat guard Tyler Herro is no longer wearing a walking boot, as the team acknowledged on Monday.
Herro, who has been out since Nov. 8 due to a Grade 2 right ankle sprain, was scheduled to wear the boot for 10 days. He will be reevaluated later this week, assuming the original plan is still in place.
According to reports following Herro’s injury, he could be out for “several” weeks, so he won’t be back on the floor anytime soon. Nonetheless, it’s reassuring that he appears to be on track with his recuperation plan thus far.
Herro is in the first year of a four-year, $120 million+ rookie scale contract he signed last year. Prior to the injury, the 23-year-old was off to a terrific start this season, averaging 25.3 points per game on.446/.410/.909 shooting in seven healthy games (all starts), while also grabbing 5.6 rebounds and dishing out 5.0 assists per night.
