Bantams to face two possible premier league top clubs as last-32 EFL Trophy set-up revealed

BRADFORD CITY will find out who they will host in the last-32 of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Friday, but there are only four prospective opponents.

The Bantams secured first place in Group F of the Northern Section of the championship by defeating Barnsley 5-1 Friday night.

This ensures that their first knockout game will take place at Valley Parade.

The BSM Trophy draw remains regionalised for this stage, but the Northern and Southern sections have been split in two.

That means that instead of facing any of the eight runners-up, City can only face the four teams who finished second in Northern Section groups A, B, C, and D.

A night of goals – and a workable-looking plan to take forwards – puts Bradford City in a better place

As a result, the Bantams are in Draw B, alongside fellow group winners Bolton Derby and Doncaster.

City will not face those three teams, but they might face any of Liverpool’s Under-21s, Port Vale, Nottingham Forest Under-21s, or Fleetwood.

The Round of 32 draw will take place live on Sky Sports News at 6.30pm on Friday, before of Sky Sports’ coverage of Rotherham United vs. Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.

Michelle Owen of Sky Sports will present the draw, along with former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford and former Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison.
