Following his recent departure from Millwall, West Brom full-back Paul Robinson has worn his boots again at the age of 44.
Robinson, a fan favorite at The Hawthorns who played over 230 times for the club, recently left The Den after working as first team coach with manager Gary Rowett for two and a half years.
Robinson departed The Lions after Rowett left, and as he waits for his next coaching job, he’s thrown on his boots and played in the Birmingham & District Football League alongside his son.
Robinson played 90 minutes for Claverdon in their 3-1 success over Diamonds Academy Saturday Diamonds U21s on Saturday, and he plans to play frequently for the local side while he rests.
“It was really good, it is not at the levels I used to play so my body can cope with it,” the strong hitting left back, who went on to play for Bolton before concluding his career with Birmingham City, told the Baggies Broadcast.
“It’ll be every other week unless they keep dragging me in, but I enjoyed it and it is an opportunity to play with one of my sons. I’d like to do the same with all of them, it was a great lifetime experience and a great joy to grace the same pitch.”
