‘Prepared to do anything’: Vincent Kompany makes big Burnley claim about Premier League survival

Vincent Kompany maintains that his Burnley team is willing to do “anything” to stay in the world’s finest league.
The Clarets have had a horrible start to the season, sitting at the bottom of the table after only four points from their first 12 games.

However, there is still a long way to go, and Kompany feels sure that his team has enough despite the massive increase in quality from the Championship.

“There’s been a huge change,” he said to William Hill.
“I spoke with Roy Hodgson after our game against Crystal Palace, and he said that the Premier League seems to improve and become more competitive every year.” Players are becoming more athletic, and the level is rising.

“This is to be expected; the resources available to clubs are increasing.” It’s the best league in the world, and it’s a privilege for us as a club to be a part of it. We’re willing to go to any length to gain the right to play in it.”

The Clarets dominated the Championship in Kompany’s debut season in command, accumulating 101 points.

While the going has been tough thus far in the Premier League, the Belgian feels the attributes that propelled Burnley to the title are still present.
“The confidence in the teams remains,” he went on to say. “It’s a habit – you don’t turn it on and off.” It’s been with us since day one in the Championship, which is why we’re here for the award, and it’s still with us in the Premier League.

“It’s a set of standards on which you can never compromise, and that consistency has to give you faith.”

“I think last season was a great season for the entire Burnley family, not just for myself.”

“Being relegated the previous season was extremely difficult, and there was considerable doubt about the club’s ability to return to the Premier League.” It was a terrific season with many memorable events, and this is likely the last chance for us to reflect on it.”
