The Seattle Seahawks acquired Kelvin Joseph, a former second-round pick of the Cowboys, ahead of their Week 12 clash with Dallas on Thursday Night Football. Joseph joined the practice squad on Sunday after spending the initial months of the season with the Miami Dolphins.

In August, the Cowboys traded the cornerback to the Dolphins, swapping him for Noah Igbinoghene, a first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Joseph, picked in the second round the following year, had a productive three seasons in Dallas with 36 tackles and four passes defended. However, his stint with the Dolphins saw limited action, with two tackles in four games before being released on Nov. 14.

Originally set to face his former team with Miami on Christmas Eve, Joseph’s reunion with the Cowboys now happens this week on Thursday Night Football, pending his travel with the Seahawks to AT&T Stadium.

Joseph, who played college football at LSU and Kentucky, had modest college careers with limited playing time. In the SEC, he notched 37 tackles and four interceptions over two years, all four picks coming during his time at Kentucky. In the previous NFL season, Joseph appeared in 16 of Dallas’ 17 games, making one start and recording 20 tackles, two passes defended, and a forced fumble.

In other news, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly set to host free agent linebacker Shaquille Leonard this week. Leonard was released by the Indianapolis Colts in his sixth season with the team. Both team owner Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy expressed interest in Leonard, with McCarthy confirming a visit. The addition of Leonard, alongside Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland, could elevate the Cowboys’ already elite defense to a higher level.
