Bradley Scanes, Max Verstappen’s performance coach, has confirmed his departure from Red Bull following the 2023 Formula One season.

Scanes has been working with Verstappen since 2020 and has been an integral part of his success, accompanying him to every race over the last four years.

However, according to De Telegraaf, Scanes has decided to leave Red Bull in order to spend more time at home due to the strenuous travel schedule.

Scanes will concentrate on his business, Elite Formula Physio and Training, and other professional commitments with a 24-race schedule planned for the coming season.

Scanes reflects on ‘magical’ Verstappen era

The departing Scanes paid tribute to Verstappen on Instagram, with the message ‘4 years, 368 flights, 3 world titles, and 1 amazing buddy’.

“I’m going to miss you, mate,” Scanes wrote. “We pressed. We had a good time. We won. We would tolerate nothing less.

“Perhaps I added a few percentage points here and there, but keep doing you, my friend; this is just part of your magical story.”

“Thank you for being part of mine.”
