Blackett-Taylor, who secured his sixth assist of the season in the match, shares the highest assist tally in the division with CJ Hamilton of Blackpool, Kwame Poku of Peterborough, and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing of Derby. Despite the contractual uncertainty, Appleton emphasized that contract matters are handled by the club’s leadership.

When questioned about the lack of information on Blackett-Taylor and Dobson’s situations, Appleton stated, “Yeah obviously, as you know, I leave that to the hierarchy to deal with contracts and stuff. All I can say is them two are turning up, they are doing their work, and they are very much contributing to the team at the minute.”

He acknowledged occasional drops in their performance levels but highlighted their overall consistency. Regarding Corey Blackett-Taylor, Appleton mentioned frustration at times but recognized his impactful moments. Concerning George Dobson, Appleton acknowledged a subpar performance in the recent game but praised Dobson’s overall outstanding contributions since Appleton took charge. Dobson, the team captain, was described as a reliable leader on and off the pitch, someone Appleton can count on every week.
